Homebuyers have many styles and price ranges from which to choose Housing choices that include quaint bungalows near Francis E. Warren Air Force Base,
stately homes in The Avenues neighborhood, executive-style homes at The
Pointe, downtown lofts and upscale retirement communities, Cheyenne has a home for everyone.
There
is a great blend of housing, from affordable to high-end, and from new
apartment complexes to houses in a country-like setting – all in Cheyenne.” says L.T. “Larry” Atwell, president of the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce.
The
project took about four years to write and included input from a
variety of industry, government, education, media, health-care and
other representatives. They didn’t want to end up with a lot of boring
subdivisions. Their goal was to have a good mix of properties – from
starter homes to more expensive homes – along with a mix of designs.”
Developers of The Harmony in south-central Cheyenne went
beyond the norm by plotting streets that gently curve and offering a
range of housing styles and prices. The Pointe is another kind of new
neighborhood, with diverse housing options. Covering 300 acres, The
Pointe includes ranch-style townhouses, single-family homes with large
front porches, tree-lined streets and 70 acres of open space with two
parks and a man-made lake.
Homeowners can select materials and
colors from The Pointe’s design center. When complete, The Pointe could
include as many as 500 residences as well as buildings for commercial
use such as medical offices and a coffee shop. There has never been
anything like this in Cheyenne, It’s the old-town look with a modern flair.
For
senior citizens, the upscale Pointe Frontier Retirement offers 157
independent-living apartments and one floor of assisted-living space.
There are studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments. The pet-friendly
retirement community also offers chauffeur service and has formally
attired wait staff serving meals using china on linen tablecloths. The
four-story, 16-year-old facility handles all maintenance and
housekeeping for residents, and it has a 24-hour emergency call system.
The residents come from all over the United States. Before it opened
most of the residents had no choice but to go to nursing homes. The
activities hosted at the residence challenge the minds of the residents
and stretch their muscles.
