| Wyoming is the land of low taxes, low cost of doing business, fair regulation and exceptional support for business from government entities. Cheyenne, the State’s capitol, is the most immediate beneficiary of these services. Cheyenne’s and Wyoming’s tax advantages include no state or local corporate income tax, no state or local personal income tax, no state or local inventory tax, and no state or local sales tax on fuel, power or raw materials used in production. Taxes are kept at a minimum because of the vast mineral resources in the area. The state sales and use tax is 4%, with additional local option sales taxes up to 2 %, subject to voter approval. Property taxes in Cheyenne are among the lowest of the nation’s metropolitan areas.
