Wyoming offers tremendous hunting opportunities for big game.  - Moose

Hunting is regulated by the Wyoming Game & Fish Department and requires a Wyoming hunting license. Drawings for permits are held in the spring with varying deadlines depending on the species. Some application deadlines for fall hunting are as early as the January before, so it is important hunters plan well in advance to make sure they get their applications in on time. Hunters must draw a permit to be able to hunt in Wyoming. Local hunting outfitters and guides do not have access to permits for their guests.
Hunting in Designated Wilderness Areas By Wyoming law, non-residents must have a licensed guide or resident companion in order to hunt big or trophy game in National Forest wilderness areas. This applies to the Bridger and Gros Ventre Wilderness Areas in Sublette County. Lists of licensed and permitted outfitters are available from the Wyoming State Board of Outfitters, 1-800-264-0981 or on the web at http://outfitters.state.wy.us. Offices of the Bridger-Teton National Forest also have a list of permitted guides for National Forest lands.
 Because the wilderness areas are closed to motorized vehicles, these areas typically provide the best opportunities for hunter success of trophy animals. Local outfitters and guides are very knowledgeable about the area and where to find the trophy animals. It is not required to hire an outfitter to hunt on non-wilderness public lands.
The Wyoming Game & Fish Department website has hunt area maps, seasons, license fees, deadlines, harvest reports and hunter draw results online. Downloadable versions of resident and non-resident hunting application booklets are also available on their website.
Archery Hunting
Archery season typically starts before rifle season in Wyoming. Seasons are available for big game and birds. Season dates vary and are listed in the current Wyoming hunter regulation pamphlet for regulations. Some local outfitters offer guide services for archery hunters.
Private Land
Approximately 80% of Sublette County is public land, thereby giving hunters hundreds of thousands of acres on which to freely hunt. Unlike the eastern side of Wyoming, hunters can find plenty of places to hunt almost any desired species without having to go onto private land or obtaining landowner permission. If you do choose to hunt on private land, be aware that many landowners charge a trespass fee, and the amount may vary depending on the landowner.
Local Hunting
Outfitters Most of the local Outfitters and Guides have web sites with further information about their services and  the areas in which they operate. The Sublette County Outfitters and Guides Association also has good information about area hunting opportunities and links to Outfitter’s websites. The SCOGA website has an online form that hunters can fill out to request information from their member outfitters. Specify what kind of species or area you wish to hunt, and the individual businesses will mail more information to you about their services. Note, if you make your inquiry specific to an area or species, instead of general, you'll get better response from the outfitters. They are looking for serious inquires for the areas in which they operate. For general information, the Sublette County Chamber of Commerce/Sublette Visitor Center will mail brochures and area literature upon request.
Lodging for Hunters Local guest ranches and lodges often offer outfitter & guide hunting services along with lodging. Some lodges provide lodging with or without meals for those who wish to be self-guided. This gives hunters the advantage of being close to their hunt areas, but with the comfort of a bed, shower, hot food and companionship to share hunting stories in the evening.
